About the role
Reporting to the Board of Directors, this exciting opportunity is a full-time position, offering an opportunity for you to highlight your talents amongst like-minded, seasoned leaders in the Bioeconomy sector.
You are self-driven and will excel in these key areas of responsibility:
- Lead & Administer Greenspring Bioinnovation Hub
- Develop and implement Greenspring Bio’s strategic plan that aligns with the organization’s mission and goals.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence within the organization.
- Oversee day-to-day operations by building and leading teams of internal and external resources, ensuring effective program delivery.
- Manage the Hub’s budget, financial planning, and resource allocation.
- Work with the board of directors to develop and implement fundraising strategies.
- Identify and secure new funding sources to support the Hub’s programs and initiatives.
- Partnership Development
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including industry partners, academic institutions, government agencies, and investors.
- Develop and execute strategies for attracting, developing, and supporting high-quality startups and entrepreneurs.
- Develop and maintain a strong network of mentors, advisors, and industry experts to support the Hub’s startups.
- Ecosystem Engagement
- Promote Greenspring Bio’s mission and programs to the broader community.
- Develop and deliver communications strategies that promote Nova Scotia’s bioeconomy ecosystem.
- Develop proposals and funding sources, identify and contract technical expertise to execute.
- Organize the design of and participate in events, workshops, and other activities that engage and educate the community.
About you
Your education has been:
- A degree in science or business
- Accredited course in strategic planning (asset)
- Project management certified (asset)
Your experience spans: (most of the following)
- 10-15 years of related industry knowledge in the bio innovation sector (or related industry)
- Operating a business in the Bio sector
- Creating strategic plans
- Overseeing committees and supported programs
- Turning challenges into opportunities
- Demonstrating lifelong learning
Your knowledge spans:
- Public policy
- Government relations
- Bioinnovation ecosystems
